Upcoming Screenings

The wheels of the Benbo bus just keep on turning. I’m pleased to announce a number of forthcoming screenings at festivals in the UK and Brazil! Woohoo!

So if you’re lucky enough to be attending one of these UK festivals (or even luckier to be in Belo Horizonte) you might want to catch a screening of the promo featuring the ukulele skills of Benbo.

Upcoming screenings:

23-26 August << They have an amazing red screening tent.

Whirlygig Cinema at In the Woods Festival (Kent, UK)
1 September

The Lost Picture Show at Bestival (Isle of Wight, UK)
7-9 September

10th Mumia Underground World Animation Film Festival (Belo Horizonte, Brazil)

Can’t make any of these screenings? Do not fear… you can view the vid below. Yay!

Good news! Our promo for Benbo’s I don’t have a lot to say has been selected for the brilliant London Short Film Festival 2012.

The film will screen as part of the New Shorts 16: Music and Video programme on Thursday 12 January at The Roxy Bar and Screen in Southwark.

Be there or be square…………. or simply elsewhere.

Robot Colour Study

This is a very rough colour study for a new animated promo I’m working on for the Benbo track Gravity Pulls Me Down.

I’m aiming for a fun but slightly twisted space adventure. These are early ideas for evil robots that may end up being Benbo’s foes. I’m feeling my way at this stage trying to put together a colour palette and get a feel for the visuals.

I’ll post more of my scribbles, sketches and random processes as I go. Any comments, ideas or words of encouragement are very welcome!

You can listen to the Benbo track I’m working on or even buy it here: Listen to Gravity pulls me down

I am very pleased to announce that the promo I directed and animated for Benbo’s ukulele track
I don’t have a lot to say has won Best Music Short at Walthamstow International Film Festival.

Hopefully the promo will experience the same positive response from the other festivals we have badgered into showing our film.

The boutique sized festival is run by the excellent Liza and Paul Fletcher. Follow them on Facebook here: facebook/WalthamstowInternationalFilmFestival then get down to one of the 5 venues between 3rd to 11th September and vote for our film so we can covet an audience award too!

Also, if you haven’t already, check out Benbo’s home on the web here: www.worldofbenbo.com.
It would be rude not to.

Benbo – I don’t have a lot to say from Tony Johnson on Vimeo.

I’m pleased to say that the promo I directed and animated for Benbo’s I don’t have a lot to say has been selected for The Walthamstow International Film Festival which takes place on 10-12th September 2011. It has been programmed to play as part of the Music Shorts category.

Hopefully we will be nominated for a Jury award… alternatively there is always the audience vote. So get voting people!
