Thanks to a great tutorial by Alex Grigg I thought I’d try a little hand drawn animation in Photoshop CS5. I found the whole process a lot more comfortable than using flash.

This is a sketch and working drawing of a nemesis for Benbo, that may feature in the new promo for Gravity Pulls Me Down. He is an evil mastermind that exists as a sock puppet on the arm of one of his robot drones. At the moment I am calling him The Malevolent Sock of Doom.

This is a very rough colour study for a new animated promo I’m working on for the Benbo track Gravity Pulls Me Down.
I’m aiming for a fun but slightly twisted space adventure. These are early ideas for evil robots that may end up being Benbo’s foes. I’m feeling my way at this stage trying to put together a colour palette and get a feel for the visuals.
I’ll post more of my scribbles, sketches and random processes as I go. Any comments, ideas or words of encouragement are very welcome!
